Last Monday, the United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister Theresa May announced ,in Parliament ,she was going to delay the House of Commons vote on the deal to leave the European Union (EU), called the Brexit, as it “would be rejected by a significant margin”.
The announcement came after three of the five days of planned debate on the deal in Parliament. In her announcement, Theresa May indicates that she has observed the main disagreement against the deal to be concerning the Northern Ireland ‘Backstop’. She told MPs that she will be speaking to EU leaders later this week about the concerns of the Backstop.
This Monday, the Government has said that it will reschedule the vote in January. Theresa May also said that there will not be a second referendum on Brexit and there was no other deal that one could get from the EU.
